How to install a network printer

  1. Click on the Start menu in the bottom left corner.
  1. In the search field type one of the following:
    1. for Clyde Hill type: \\printers-ch
    2. for Three Points type: \\printers-3p
    3. for Mack type: \\printers-mk
  1. Hit Enter.
  1. A window will pop up showing you a list of printers available. Scroll to the one you want and double click it. Alternatively, right click it and left click Connect.
     5. The printer will install the drivers and is now available on your machine.

A few notes:

  • When you install a printer to your machine, it is only installed on that user account. This should not be an issue for those who are given their own computer.
For example: Jane installs a printer on an LRC computer. John logs on later to that computer, but the printer will not appear to be installed.
  • To see what printers are currently installed on your computer, open the Control Panel and click on Devices and Printers.
