How to troubleshoot your projector


 Here are some basic steps to follow when your projector is not working.

 

Check the Video Source


Check the source of the video (computer, DVD player, or document camera)

Computer

  1. Check that the display cable is plugged in
  2. Check that your display settings are set to duplicate or extend
    1. To do this: Press the Win+P (Windows button and "P" at the same time)
    2. Select duplicate or extend
      1. Note: if you are using extend, make sure the window is dragged to the appropriate screen

 DVD player

  1. Check that the power is on
  2. Check that the display cable is plugged in

Document Camera

  1. Check that the power is on
  2. Check that the display cable is plugged in

Check the Video Cables


If the source should be working, check the cables between the source and the projector.
  1. Is there a switch box?
    1. Make sure the correct input is selected
    2. Check the cables
  2. Is there a document camera?
    1. Make sure to select PC if you are using your computer
    2. Check the cables

Check the Projector


If the source and cables are working check the projector:
  1. Is the projector powered on?
  2. Is the right input selected?
  3. Is it screen "blank" or "frozen"
    1. Power it off for 10 seconds
    2. Try pulling the power cable and reconnecting

 Still Not Working?
